By Chad Winthrop
A Los Angeles Police Division DUI checkpoint is coming to a West Los Angeles intersection Friday evening.
The Los Angeles Police Division (LAPD) has introduced that it’s going to maintain DUI/Driver License checkpoint and DUI saturation patrols within the upcoming days geared toward eradicating impaired drivers from the highway.
DUI checkpoints and saturation patrols are executed in places with a better frequency of DUI-related collisions and arrests. In the course of the checkpoints, officers shall be on the lookout for indicators of alcohol and/or drug impairment, with officers checking drivers for correct licensing.
In line with the LAPD, Friday, April 16, 2020, 7 P.M. to 12 A.M. the LAPD will maintain a DUI and Driver’s License Checkpoint on the intersection of at Santa Monica Boulevard and Purdue Avenue in Los Angeles.
Drivers charged with DUI face a median of $13,500 in fines and penalties, in addition to a suspended license.
The LAPD reminds drivers that “DUI Doesn’t Simply Imply Booze.”
For those who take prescribed drugs, significantly these with a driving or working equipment warning on the label, you could be impaired sufficient to get a DUI. Marijuana can be impairing, particularly together with alcohol or different medicine, and can lead to a DUI.
