A woman was apprehended by police in Rochester, New York, after she allegedly hit a pedestrian with her vehicle on Portland Avenue late on Tuesday evening.
Upon reaching the site of the incident, around the 800 block of Portland Ave at approximately 10:45 pm, officers discovered the victim, a young man aged 18, on the ground with severe injuries to his upper body. He was transferred to Strong Memorial Hospital and is currently in critical yet stable condition.
Through their investigations, it was ascertained that the accident happened while the victim was crossing Portland Ave. and was hit by the car driven by the suspect.
The woman driving the car, aged 24, stayed at the scene and was unharmed. She was subsequently detained on suspicion of Driving While Intoxicated (DWI). Depending on the evaluation of the case, she may face additional charges.
