Early on Saturday morning, a man was detained in Morrisville under suspicion of drunk driving, which would be his second DUI charge. Vermont State troopers reported noticing 32-year-old Zachary Goodell, a resident of Newport Center, navigating the southbound lane of Vermont Route 100 in an erratic manner around 12:56 a.m. The officers noticed signs of impaired capacity during their interaction with Goodell following a traffic stop.
After carrying out standard roadside sobriety tests, which further suggested inebriation, Goodell was taken into custody. He was then taken to the Derby Barracks for further processing. Goodell was released later with a summons to appear in Orleans Superior Court on April 23.
