DWI Driver Charged in Fatal Construction Worker Accident on Military Cutoff

A construction worker was fatally struck by a man who drove into a construction site in Wilmington, North Carolina. The incident occurred on Thursday around 1:00 a.m. at the junction of Military Cutoff and Covil Farm Road. The accused, 29-year-old Dakota Quinn Knight, reportedly fled the scene after hitting the worker. The worker was found dead at the site. Knight was later located by a deputy behind a nearby church. The Wilmington Police Department’s traffic unit is currently investigating the accident. Knight is facing charges of felony hit-and-run, felony DWI, and reckless operation of a vehicle, with potential for additional charges. The identity of the deceased worker has not yet been released.
