Elderly Cyclist Killed in DUI Crash in Forsyth County

In Forsyth County, Georgia, a motorist has been indicted with vehicular manslaughter connected to the death of a 71-year-old bike rider over the weekend. The investigation sparked off by the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office following several calls received by their 911 center about a collision between a bicycle and a vehicle around 4:20 p.m. on Saturday, at the intersection of Castleberry Road and Kings Common Way. As per the deputies, the cyclist, identified as Victor Godyn aged 71 from Cumming, was struck by a 1994 Chevrolet C1500 pickup truck as he navigated his way across the intersection. Emergency personnel pronounced Godyn dead on site. Authorities have disclosed that Matthew Molbrook, aged 48, was driving under the influence of drugs during the incident. Molbrook has since been charged with vehicular homicide and driving under the influence of drugs. The investigation of this case is still ongoing.
