A man from Seaford, Delaware, identified as Philip Swetz, was recently taken into custody for his fifth DUI offense. The incident occurred on Thursday morning in Sussex County when Swetz allegedly crashed his Ford Ranger into a ditch on Kaye Road near Seaford. Upon making contact with the suspect, officials noted signs of possible impairment. Swetz was later taken to a local hospital for an unrelated medical issue where a sobriety test was conducted. After being discharged, he was arrested for DUI, revealed by a computer to be his fifth such offense. Swetz was then transferred to Sussex Correctional Institution with a secured bond set at $10,150. Charges against him include the fifth offense DUI, failure to have insurance identification in possession, and failure to remain within a single line.
