Patrick Mahomes Sr., father of the Kansas City Chiefs quarterback, was reportedly arrested in Texas on Saturday for alleged drunk driving. This arrest is said to be the “third or more” DWI offense for 53-year-old Mahomes Sr., with the most recent incident happening just a week before his son’s Super Bowl game, as per the Smith County Jail booking report. Previously in 2018, Mahomes Sr. had another DWI charge and he pled guilty, serving a 40-day sentence in county jail during weekends from February 2019 to February 2020, as disclosed by the Kansas City Star. There has been no immediate response to a request for comment from his representative, according to NBC News. Mahomes Sr. used to play as a pitcher in the Major League Baseball from 1992 to 2003 and his son is now playing to become one of the very few quarterbacks to clinch three or more Super Bowl victories. The Chiefs are a win away from achieving back-to-back Super Bowl wins, a feat last accomplished by the New England Patriots during the 2003 and 2004 seasons.
