A woman from Bethel, Connecticut has been arrested for driving under the influence after causing a wrong-way accident in Seymour. State Police and emergency services responded to the crash on the southward part of Route 8, near Exit 20, at approximately 12:30 am on Sunday. The 55-year-old woman from Bethel was driving her vehicle north in a southbound lane, causing her to collide with a Jeep traveling in the correct direction. While she escaped injury, the other driver reported possible injuries but refused on-site medical treatment. Police reported that the woman failed the Standardized Field Sobriety Tests, following which she was arrested. She faces charges of DUI, wrong-way driving on a divided highway, and second-degree reckless endangerment. After being processed at Troop 1 headquarters, she was released on a $1,000 non-surety bond and given a court date of February 16 at Derby Superior Court.
