The New Mexico State Police (NMSP) began 2024 with a lot of activity. In January, the Uniform and Crime Suppression bureaus of the NMSP recorded 207 felony arrests, 96 drunk-driving arrests, recovered 24 stolen vehicles, and confiscated 47 firearms, among which eight were stolen. This was revealed in the statistics made available by the State Police on Tuesday, Feb. 6.
Additional data for January showed: 340 misdemeanor arrests, the issue of 14,235 traffic tickets, the seizure of 726 grams of fentanyl, 223 grams of methamphetamine, 231 grams of cocaine, and 33 grams of crack cocaine.
In a news release, it was stated that these figures underscore the ongoing commitment of the NMSP towards public safety and also demonstrate the dedication of the NMSP officers and agents towards serving and protecting New Mexico citizens.
