Fernando Munoz has been taken into custody for allegedly stealing a vehicle from a private driveway, as reported by the Mesa County Sheriff’s Office. The deputies were alerted to the theft early Tuesday morning and tracked the vehicle via its onboard navigation system. They followed the car discreetly, ultimately using the system to gradually reduce its speed as it was moving north on 25 Road. Despite this, Munoz continued to drive, nearly hitting some construction workers before crashing into a fence near Eisenhauer Street and Fracture Avenue. Following his arrest, he was transported to the Mesa County Detention Facility, where he faces multiple charges including aggravated vehicle theft, vehicular eluding, reckless endangerment, driving under the influence, drug possession, and several traffic violations.
