A revised announcement issued on Jan. 24 identified the victim of a fatal DUI accident at Highway 101 as 32-year-old Edna Marquez Galindo of Fresno. A GoFundMe page has been established by her family in order to raise funds to cover the cost of her burial.
According to the page’s message, the family seeks assistance so that they can lay Edna, a mother, daughter, and friend, to rest without having to worry about the accompanying expenses, as her death was sudden. They welcome any contributions.

Going back to the incident, the crash unfolded on Sunday night round 10:42 p.m. when Oscar De La Mora Marin, 37, from Reedley California, who was under influence, steered a Subaru he was driving into the center divider on Highway 101. The excessive speed and his attempt to bring the car back to the roadway caused him to overcorrect and lose control. The car rolled over off the freeway, and rested on a nearby frontage road.
Edna, the passenger in the vehicle, was flung from the car during the rollover. She was rushed to Sierra Vista Medical Center where she was later pronounced dead. Marin was taken into custody on DUI charges and held in the San Luis Obispo County Jail.
