Deputy from Bernalillo Sheriff’s Office Detained for Domestic Violence, DWI

A deputy from the Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office in Albuquerque, New Mexico, has been placed on administrative leave after being arrested for domestic violence and drunk driving. Daniel Vasquez-Moreno tried to escape after arguing with his girlfriend but was apprehended by an officer from the Rio Rancho Police Department. The deputy’s alcohol level was two times the legal limit, marking the third time this year a BCSO deputy has been arrested.

Sheriff John Allen expressed his disappointment and frustration over the incident, stating this doesn’t represent the majority of the Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office deputies who serve honorably. He assured that steps are being taken to prevent such incidents in the future while maintaining the department’s integrity and dedication to the public.
