Alamogordo Man Faces 8th DWI Arrest

A man named Larry Dennis was apprehended for getting behind the wheel while intoxicated in Alamogordo, New Mexico. This wasn’t his first offense; rather, he has been convicted eight times previously for similar charges. On February 18, Dennis sought help from an Alamogordo police officer at a closed city park. The officer found empty beer cans in Dennis’s car and discovered his history of driving while intoxicated after checking national records. Despite blaming a medical condition for his impaired state, Dennis performed poorly on alternative sobriety tests and was subsequently arrested.

In addition to his ninth drunk driving charge, he’s also facing charges for unlawful use of public property for entering the park after hours. Reports indicate KRQE has reached out to the 12th Judicial District Attorney’s office and the Alamogordo police seeking more details about Dennis’s eight prior convictions, but the information is not yet available.
