Boerne Champion High School Coach Arrested for DWI

Renowned coach Christopher Slay from Boerne Champion High School in Texas was arrested on a charge of driving while intoxicated (DWI) over the weekend. Slay, a world geography teacher and coach of swimming, diving, and water polo, was taken into custody around 5:30 a.m. Sunday by the Kendall County Sherrif’s Office. According to information on the Boerne ISD website, Slay has guided his water polo teams to eight state championships. After his arrest, he was released on a $1,500 bond the same day. The Boerne ISD confirmed his arrest and has placed him on leave. The school district emphasized that the incident is unrelated to his professional responsibilities at the school.
