Professional golfer Harold Varner III, a native of North Carolina, was apprehended by authorities on Thursday for allegedly driving under the influence, as per county documents. His arrest was made by Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police in Charlotte around 7:24 PM, announced by the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office.
Detailed information about Varner’s arrest is scanty. However, Nexstar’s WJZY is trying to acquire further details from the authorities.
Court documents obtained by local media outlets revealed that Varner registered a blood alcohol content of 0.16 during the breath test, twice the legal limit of 0.08.
Varner was born in Akron, Ohio but brought up in Gastonia, North Carolina. He partakes in the LIV Tour, where he secured the seventh place in the 2023 rankings. Varner also secured the 29th position at last year’s Masters. He began his professional career in 2012 after playing for East Carolina at the college level.
