Westfield Driver Arrested for DWI After Crash

Recent reports from Westfield, New Jersey, detail a DWI arrest, an attempted car burglary, and a warrant arrest. A summary of incidents from the Westfield Police Blotter that occurred between February 18 and February 24 is as follows:

On the morning of February 20, Westfield Police conducted a traffic stop on the 700 block of Oak Ave. The driver, Kristopher Legones, 37, from Westfield, had an outstanding traffic warrant from Springfield Municipal Court valued at $3,000. He was processed at the police headquarters and released R.O.R.

A motor vehicle accident took place on February 21 around 11:35 p.m. Officers Donovan and Picciano were called to the 600 block of Hanford Place where a single vehicle had collided with a parked car. Roger Stone, 73, from Mountainside, was consequently arrested for driving while intoxicated. After being processed at Westfield Police Headquarters, Stone was released to a sober adult.

On the afternoon of February 22, a resident on Terrace Place disclosed that an unknown individual(s) had attempted to break into their vehicle overnight. Despite inflicting damage on the door handle with some type of prying tool, the perpetrator(s) failed to gain entry to the vehicle and made no discernible attempts at other vehicles on the property. Nothing appeared to be stolen from the car, and the cost of damage repair remains undetermined.
