In Turlock, California, a 17-year old from Modesto was taken into custody on allegations of felony drunk driving when their passenger was killed on a Sunday afternoon crash. The California Highway Patrol (CHP) reported that two vehicles suffered significant damage following a collision at the junction of Fulkerth Road and Faith Home Road around 3:30 p.m.
The police detailed that the teenager was in control of a 2013 Buick sedan travelling eastbound on Fulkerth Road when it hit a cattle trailer’s left side, led by a 2004 GMC pickup after he ignored a stop sign. Although the teenager only suffered moderate injuries and was hospitalized, his passenger, a 21-year-old woman from Modesto, was pronounced dead at the site of the accident. The authorities said she had not buckled her seatbelt at the time of the accident. Nobody else involved in the accident was injured.
The juvenile was later arrested and sent to the Juvenile Detention Facility being suspected of felony DUI, felony gross manslaughter and misdemeanor on charges of driving with a suspended license.
