Kimberling City has begun its Spring DWI Enforcement Campaign. The Kimberling City Police Department and the Missouri Coalition for Roadway Safety are urging residents to utilize sober transportation options, such as rideshares, a designated driver, or taxis. Law enforcement will be stepping up their patrols from March 15 to April 19 to tackle drunk driving.

Safety is crucial for all individuals, regardless of the mode of transport, as highlighted in a statement from the Kimberling City Police Department. The statement also reminds people that substances other than alcohol can impair driving. The basic guideline provided is, if one feels different, their driving is likely to be different as well, and therefore it is safer not to drive.

The Kimberling City Police Department and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration remind people about the perils of drunk driving and emphasize the message: Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over. An intensified police presence will be on the roads from March 15, 2024, to April 19, 2024, specifically to get drunk drivers off the streets.

Kimberling City Police Chief, Todd Lemoine, warns that impaired drivers will be pulled over, underlining that irresponsible driving is not tolerated. He adds that excuses for drunk driving are inexcusable when so many resources are available to get drivers home safely.

Safe driving measures, such as ridesharing or local taxi services like the Table Rock Taxi, are available in Kimberling City. Chief Lemoine advises drivers to use these options or designate a sober person to drive. If a person is drunk, or on the verge of driving under the influence, he encourages the confiscation of their car keys and arranging safe transport home.

Driving under the influence of alcohol or marijuana can be risky. It’s unlawful to drive with a BAC of 0.08 or above in the US, and penalties for drunk driving include jail time, revocation of driving privileges, vehicle seizure, and financial penalties that could escalate to $10,000 as a result of legal fees, fines, insurance rate hikes, and lost wages.
