Another series of arrests have been made by the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office targeting individuals driving under the influence.
At approximately 3:10 am on Sunday, February 18th, a traffic stop was executed on State Route 392 close to Palmer Road in the Vigil. The investigation led by officers concluded that the driver, 31-year-old Jacqueline R. Moore from Freeville, was intoxicated while driving.
Moore faced charges including DWI, operating a vehicle with a blood alcohol content of 0.08% or higher, serious unlicensed operation in the third degree – all of which are Misdemeanors – in addition to numerous traffic violations. She was then transferred to the Sheriff’s Office for formalities and subsequently allowed to leave on her own accord.
The Virgil Town Court anticipates Moore’s appearance later this month.
Later on the same day, around 7am, Daniel N. McMahon, a 33-year-old from Marathon, appeared at the Public Safety Building at 54 Greenbush Street to discuss a previous incident. Officers discovered that McMahon was under the influence of alcohol while driving and subsequently arrested him. He was charged with DWI, which is a Misdemeanor. Like Moore, McMahon was also released on his own recognizance and is expected in Cortland City Court the following month.
