Fairfield Man’s Fifth DUI Following Road Rage Incident

A man from Vermont, identified as Philip Smith, 44, was arrested and charged with his fifth DUI after being involved in a road rage incident in Fairfield on February 14th. State Troopers from the St. Albans Barracks responded to the scene around 4:44 p.m. following reports of the incident. Smith showed signs of impairment during interaction with the troopers. Following an on-site investigation, he was arrested and taken to the St. Albans Barracks. He was later transferred to the Northwest State Correctional Facility. Smith is due to appear in the Franklin County Superior Court to respond to the charges.
