Former NFL star Richard Sherman has been charged with driving under the influence by a King County District Court judge. This came after his arrest early Saturday morning. A hearing scheduled for Monday morning will address his release conditions. Sherman’s time of arrest has delayed bail being set. Sherman has previously faced charges for similar behavior and other misdemeanors in July 2021. After reaching a settlement with King County prosecutors in March 2022, he admitted to additional traffic violations. Afterward, he was placed under court supervision and required to participate in a DUI victim’s panel. During this period, Sherman claims to have undergone significant personal growth and mental health revelation. He played for the Seahawks, leading them to their first Super Bowl victory before continuing his career elsewhere and ultimately retiring in 2021. He now works as part of Amazon Prime Video’s weekly NFL broadcast team.
