The Los Alamos Police Department (LAPD) will be initiating several roadblocks and heavy patrolling in the coming months. These actions are to counteract crimes linked to driving under the influence, underage drinking, and open container infractions. The efforts are funded by the Local Driving While Intoxicated (LDWI) grant program. LAPD encourages responsible drinking and urges people to opt for other transportation options if consuming alcoholic drinks. They also request the public to report any reckless driving by reaching out to their Consolidated Dispatch Center (CDC) at (505) 662-8222 or by dialing 9-1-1.
