DWI Charges for Woman in Two-Car Crash

A female driver is under charges of DWI following a two-car collision in Pinehurst. The accident took place on Highway 15-501 North and Juniper Creek Blvd.

Pinehurst Police stated that a Kia Sorento hit a Nissan Murano during the crash, causing the former to flip over on 15-501 and the latter to be diverted off the roadway. Post-impact, the front of the Nissan incurred significant damage.

Following the accident, both the passengers in the Nissan and the Kia driver were found to be without injuries. However, field sobriety and Breathalyzer tests were performed on the Kia driver by Pinehurst Police, which led to her arrest on DWI charges at the accident site. Authorities also mentioned excessive speed as a contributing factor to the collision.

As well as police, Pinehurst Fire & Rescue, and Moore County EMS were also present at the scene. As is customary, those facing criminal charges are considered innocent until proven guilty in court.

The accident was covered by B.J. Goodridge, the publisher of Sandhills Sentinel.
