A woman from Barnet has been charged with drunk driving and careless driving following a solo car accident on Interstate 91 in Ryegate. The Vermont State Police were alerted to the accident near mile marker 115 on I-91 North, around 4:17 p.m. on the 5th of March. Upon reaching the scene, they discovered a 2013 Jeep Wrangler, driven by 53 year old Michelle Schuyer, overturned and obstructing the southbound passing lane. Officers noticed signs of intoxication in Schuyer and after a field sobriety test, it was determined she was inebriated while driving. Schuyer was apprehended and processed at the St. Johnsbury Barracks, and is expected to appear in Caledonia County Superior Court on March 25 at 8:30 a.m.
