A woman is facing multiple charges after initiating a police pursuit that began in Madison and culminated in Ridgeland, Mississippi. As per the Madison County Sheriff’s Office, deputies tried to apprehend a woman driving a white Audi SUV on Old Canton Road on a recent Friday around 5 p.m. The driver, identified as Melody Dawn Johnson, decided to flee, resulting in a brief chase with law enforcement that concluded on Rice Road near Pear Orchard Road intersection in Ridgeland. Following the incident, Ridgeland Police arrested Johnson. Her charges include driving under the influence, possession of a controlled substance, being a felon carrying a firearm, reckless driving, inappropriate overtaking, speeding, and several other traffic transgressions.
