A house in a Deerfield Beach, Florida neighborhood has sustained severe damage after a pickup truck crashed into it. This incident led to an arrest and charges of driving under the influence (DUI). The scene along the 600 block of Northwest 37th Street was attended by Broward Sheriff’s Office deputies and Fire Rescue units on Sunday morning. According to the police, they were notified about the crash around 8:45 a.m. Upon arrival, first responders reached out to both the truck driver and the family residing in the damaged house. Despite the severity of the crash, no injuries were reported.
Larissa Paula, a local resident, expressed relief, noting that “luckily, nobody injured, nobody dead.” The family home was invaded by a red Chevrolet Silverado that crashed directly into the living room, causing extensive damage. Nemias Perez, whose family was asleep during the incident, said that the pickup also smashed into Paula’s car, parked across the street. He further added that a total of four cars were destroyed.
The driver faced DUI-related charges and has been taken into custody. By Sunday afternoon, the damaged house was secured with plywood. The occupants informed that they are living without electricity and must find alternative accommodations until repairs are completed. The matter is under further investigation.
