A Canandaigua resident, Nicholas Albert, 28, has been arrested on charges of driving while intoxicated (DWI) and vehicular assault following a car accident. The incident, which took place on December 9, 2023, at the juncture of County Road 30 and Brace Road in Canandaigua, resulted in serious injuries to a passenger in the vehicle.

Albert’s arrest was carried out on March 6, 2024. Preliminary investigations reveal that at the time of the crash, his blood alcohol level stood at an alarming 0.323 percent. Moreover, he was found to have marijuana’s main psychoactive compound, THC, in his bloodstream. His court hearing is slated to happen in the Canandaigua Town Court at a yet to be announced date.
