Benefit Sale for Wounded San Antonio Officer from DWI shooting

A fundraiser in the form of a plate sale is being organized for a San Antonio police officer who was injured in a shooting during a DWI traffic stop. The incident happened last month and the officer, Domonice Muro, has been recovering at home after being released from the hospital three days following the shooting. The fundraising event will be held on March 27 at the San Antonio Police Department Central Substation. In addition to the plate sale, donations will also be accepted.

Officer Muro, a six-year veteran of the San Antonio Police department, was shot while providing assistance during a DWI traffic stop near the 8200 block of Marbach Road. The officer was in stable condition after surgery and continues his recovery process. The suspects, however, fled the scene in the vehicle which was later found abandoned.

Police later identified and tracked down an 18-year-old suspect with an arrest warrant for Attempted Capital Murder of a Peace Officer. The man fatally shot himself in his home when the authorities arrived.
