Charleston Software CEO Arrested for DUI

Michael Gianoni, CEO of Charleston-based software firm Blackbaud, was arrested on DUI charges on Friday in Isle of Palms, South Carolina. A local police report indicated that an officer noticed Gianoni’s vehicle, a Mercedes SUV, driving erratically and subsequently conducted a traffic stop. The officer detected a strong scent of alcohol on Gianoni’s breath and administered a series of sobriety tests, the results of which led to Gianoni’s arrest. He has since been released on a $992 PR bond and is due to appear in court on April 24. Blackbaud, described as the “world’s leading cloud software company powering social good,” reportedly generates over $1 billion in revenue, with headquarters situated on Daniel Island and operations spread across Asia, Australia, Europe, and Latin America.
