Stormi Dean, a 28-year-old woman from Neosho, Missouri, has received an eight-year sentence from Judge Kevin Selby of the 40th Judicial Circuit. Dean pleaded guilty to a single count of a B Felony for Driving While Intoxicated, which led to a fatal accident on Baxter Street in Neosho on April 2, 2022. Dean’s guilty plea had a maximum sentence of ten years.
During the sentencing, the victims’ family requested compassion for the defendant and her children. They gave their blessing for an eight-year sentence. Prosecuting Attorney William Lynch stressed the serious consequences of Dean’s reckless decision, speaking to the enduring effect this tragedy will have on both families. He also highlighted the victims’ family’s grace and empathy for Dean’s young family, saying it left a significant impression on everyone present at the hearing.
