18-Year-Old Faces DWI Charge in Vienna Incident: Police

On February 9, at 11:37 p.m., a Vienna police officer stopped a vehicle that was seen moving quickly in the eastbound direction near Maple Avenue E. and Westbriar Drive N.E. On interacting with the driver, the officer found him to be impaired. After failing a series of field-sobriety tests, the man was arrested. In the vehicle, there was also a juvenile passenger who had consumed alcohol.

The 18-year-old driver from Reston was taken to the Vienna Police Station for a breathalyzer test. He was later moved to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center, where he was charged with driving while intoxicated (under 21 years old).

The juvenile passenger was also taken to the Vienna Police Station and after receiving a warning about underage drinking, was released into the care of his mother.
