The Vermont Department of Public Safety has issued a news release about a motor vehicle accident. The accident was reported on the night of March 18, 2024, on Roaring Brook Road in Killington, with snowfall contributing to poor road conditions at the time. The vehicle involved, driven by 38-year-old John Kohn Jr of Killington, Vermont, struck multiple trees and a well casing and ended up on its side.
Kohn, who was driving a 2022 Jeep Compass, sustained no injuries from the accident. However, he was suspected of being under the influence at the time of the crash and was subsequently arrested on DUI charges. Kohn was processed at Rutland Barracks and then released with a citation to appear in court at a future date. Support at the scene was provided by Killington Fire and First Response, along with Regional Ambulance.
Further action is pending with a Vermont Civil Violation Complaint. There is a scheduled court appearance for John Kohn Jr on April 8, 2024, at the Vermont Superior Court, Rutland Criminal Division. Please note, the court date and time might change per the court’s discretion. For confirmation of arraignment time, it’s suggested to contact the criminal court clerk.
