A Phoenix police officer experienced a minor accident when his vehicle was hit from behind on a Wednesday morning by a driver suspected of being under the influence. The incident occurred around 2:30 a.m. on the 3rd of April as the officer sat idle at a traffic light close to 7th Avenue and Watkins Street. At the time, the officer was transporting a female arrestee to jail.

Phoenix police reported, “The officer in question as well as the female detainee both received necessary medical attention at a hospital as a precaution. The adult female driver of the other vehicle was cited and subsequently released.”
The suspected driver was not named.
