Officer Resigns Prior to DWI Investigation Interview

In a recent press conference, Chief Harold Medina of Albuquerque Police Department (APD) announced the resignation of an officer involved in the FBI raids associated with the DWI unit. The officer, Alba, resigned on the eve of his internal affairs interview. He was formerly honored with the 2023 Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) Officer of the Year award for his exceptional work in combating drunk driving in New Mexico.

However, the FBI and the U.S. Attorney’s Office have yet to release any documents linked to the search warrants and raids involving APD officers, a lawyer, and a paralegal. None of the individuals mentioned in our reports, including officer Alba, have been charged officially.
