Lansing Man with DWI History Faces Felony After Crash

On the early morning of March 4, officials were summoned to a vehicular accident scene in Lansing where a car driven by 36-year-old Darin J. Fergus had skidded off Ridge Road. According to police, the Toyota Camry initially drifted into the opposite lane before ultimately crashing into a ditch, which occurred around 12:22 a.m.

The following investigation showed that Fergus, a Lansing resident, had been using drugs or alcohol at the time of the accident. Consequently, he was arrested and charged with felony DWAI drugs. Deputies also noted that Fergus had two previous DWI or DWAI convictions, one of which took place within the past decade.

After the arrest, Fergus was transported to Cayuga Medical Center for blood testing. He was then issued an appearance ticket for his upcoming court date at the Town of Lansing Court.
