A 39-year-old man, who is believed to be connected to a DUI crash which resulted in the death of a female passenger in Seal Beach, has been taken into custody. The incident occurred early Monday, with law enforcement attending the scene at the intersection of Seal Beach Boulevard and North Gate Road, following reports of a traffic accident involving an unconscious female passenger.
On arrival, officers found that the woman had been thrown from the vehicle during the collision and was declared dead at the scene. The man, identified as Victor Alfonso Campos Carranza from Los Angeles, was transported to a hospital for medical attention before being taken to Orange County Jail. He faces charges of felony DUI causing bodily injury and gross vehicular manslaughter while under the influence.
In the aftermath of the accident, a traffic alert was issued affecting multiple lanes on Seal Beach Boulevard and Golden Rain Road and was in effect till late morning.
