DUI Crash Trial Involving Death of ORU Soccer Player Begins Monday

A court case is set to begin on Monday concerning a man who allegedly killed an ORU men’s soccer player in a car accident while intoxicated. The records reveal that Eugene Quaynor was rear-ended by Nicholas Robinson at a stoplight near 71st and Yale in September 2022. Upon arrival, first responders found Quaynor trapped in his flaming vehicle. Witnesses reported that Robinson fled the scene after causing the accident, but was later apprehended after colliding with a concrete wall. Robinson faces charges of second-degree murder, DUI, speeding, and running a red light.
