DUI Charges for Hollis Man after Utility Pole Crash

A 74-year-old man from Westford was apprehended and charged with driving under the influence following a collision with a utility pole on Depot Road near Nichols Field in Hollis on March 31. Responding to the accident were Hollis Police and Fire Departments around 5 p.m., who discovered that the man, identified as Daniel Locke, had driven off course crossing the double yellow lines to the opposite lane prior to the crash. Locke refused any medical attention at the incident site. As the officers investigated further, they observed signs of impairment, which led to his arrest. Locke is confronting a class B misdemeanor charge for his DUI. After completing processing procedures at Hollis Police Department, he was let off on personal recognizance bail. A court hearing is scheduled for him at the 9th Circuit Court, Nashua District. The accident took place in an area known to be often occupied by pedestrians, cyclists, and horse riders, particularly during good weather conditions. Thankfully, the incident did not result in any reported injuries.
