A 48-year-old man named Michael Huber from Alsip, Illinois, is currently being charged with a DUI by Joliet police. The charges stem from his decision to drive while intoxicated, which reportedly caused an accident on Essington Road last Friday night.
The police records indicate that at 9:20 p.m. on December 22, the officers were called to the scene of a car crash on Essington Road and Thomas Hickey Drive. Huber was reportedly driving a Volkswagen Jetta northbound on Essington Road, in the inner lane. His car then collided with the back of a Tesla 3, driven by a 45-year-old man from Naperville. No injuries were reported as a result of the crash.
During interaction with the responding officers, Huber displayed signs of alcohol impairment. He carried out field sobriety tests, and was subsequently detained without any issues. Huber also received a citation for failing to slow down to prevent the accident, and his car was towed from the site of the accident. He was later released by Joliet police with a notice to appear in court for the DUI charges.
