Dittmer Man Arrested for DWI Following Hwy. 30 Accident

A 50-year-old man from Dittmer was taken into custody on suspicion of drunk driving on Thursday, Feb. 1, on the Hwy. 30, east of Gravois Road in the northwestern part of Jefferson County, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol. The man, while driving his 2015 Jeep Compass eastward, swerved off to the left side of the road, hitting both a sign and an embankment around 2:44 a.m. Suffering significant injuries, he was rushed to Mercy Hospital South located in south St. Louis County by Big River Ambulance. However, a spokesperson from the hospital stated they had no information to share about him. The report mentioned that he was wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident and the jeep sustained minor damage. The man was apprehended by the authorities at 3:40 a.m. while at the hospital. His identity will remain confidential unless any charges are formally filed against him. As of the morning of Feb. 3, no charges have been filed yet.
