A woman lost her life after being struck by a vehicle, driven by an person under the influence of marijuana, in Fresno, California, says the Fresno Police Department. The incident reportedly took place around 6 p.m. where a car was driving southbound on Fresno Street nearing Cambridge Avenue and hit a homeless woman who was crossing the road away from the crosswalk. As a result of the collision, the woman later died from her injuries. Although investigators affirmed that speed was not a vital factor in the accident, they found that the driver was in a state of intoxication at the time. Despite the driver not being held responsible for the accident, they have been issued a DUI citation.
