Reston man charged with DWI after Vienna stone wall crash

A driver, who was on his way west in the 600 block of John Marshall Drive, N.W., on December 31 at 5:09 p.m., ignored a stop sign at Lawyers Road and hit a stone wall, according to the Vienna police.

Emergency services arrived to check on the driver but he refused to be taken to a hospital. When the police interacted with the driver, they noticed signs of being impaired and arrested him after he was unsuccessful in performing several field-sobriety tests.

The 52-year-old man from Reston was taken to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center by the police. After the man provided a breath sample for analysis, he was charged with drunk driving. Authorities released the man on an unsecured bond due to minor injuries he sustained from the accident.
