Former NFL star and sports personality, Richard Sherman, is reported to have been arrested in Seattle on suspicions of DUI. On February 24, the ex-Seattle Seahawk was taken into custody, allegedly due to being intoxicated while driving. The authorities reportedly found the former cornerback around 5 a.m., entering into the Kings County Jail. A judge later believed there was likely cause he was driving while drunk.
The state patrol officers who made the arrest reported having pulled him over on I-405 around 2 a.m. for driving at 79 mph in a 60 mph zone. The Seattle Times reports Sherman allegedly admitted to consuming two margaritas but declined to take a breathalyzer test. Nonetheless, he allegedly agreed to undergo further voluntary testing.
Post the completion of these tests, officers suspected him of being under the influence and proceeded to cumbersomely arrest him. This arrest carries significant potential ramifications for Sherman, as NBCSports reports that he has been under scrutinized surveillance for the past two years due to a previous arrest in July 2021. As of the present, it’s unclear what the exact charges are and no bail has been set.
The final point made in the content advises against getting arrested over the weekend as you’ll likely not see a judge until the following Monday in most cases.
