DUI crash near Sprague, Havana leaves passenger seriously injured; 30-year-old woman arrested

A female suspect was taken into custody on Saturday night following her alleged involvement in a serious car crash on Sprague Avenue which left another person critically injured. She is suspected of DUI and vehicular assault. The Spokane police sighted an errant vehicle proceeding eastwards on Sprague Avenue towards Havana Street at around 10:15 pm. Before the officer could take action, the vehicle, controlled by 30-year-old Cheyann L. Bailey, collided with another vehicle at the junction of both streets and the victim was seriously injured, said the police news release.

Bailey now faces numerous allegations, including DUI, operating a vehicle without the necessary interlock device and vehicular assault. In addition, she also faces three counts of third-degree assault charges for attacking nurses at a local hospital, the release further stated.
