PITTSBURGH (KDKA) — Authorities in Lancaster County arrested a teen for DUI while operating a John Deere Gator in West Earl Township. The police department stated in a press release that 19-year-old Nolan Weaver was detained under the suspicion of DUI following a traffic stop on March 17. Weaver had been driving an all-terrain utility vehicle, the John Deere Gator.
The traffic stop was initiated around 2 a.m. on March 17 when an officer noticed the operator of the John Deere Gator leaving a Sheetz parking lot. According to the police, Weaver failed to indicate a turn signal while exiting the parking lot, and the vehicle was not registered.
Upon stopping the teen, an officer observed indications of alcohol impairment. Following a field sobriety test, Weaver was arrested and taken to the West Earl Township Police Department’s station. A breathalyzer test indicated that Weaver’s blood alcohol levels were five times the legal limit for underage individuals, set at 0.02 percent in Pennsylvania.
Weaver now faces several charges, including DUI-general impairment and DUI-minor. He has been released pending a court appearance. West Earl Township is located in northeastern Lancaster County.
