Star running back from the University of Georgia, Trevor Curtis Etienne, was arrested on charges of DUI on Sunday morning. The junior player hails from Jennings, Louisiana, and was detained in Athens-Clarke County at around 4:30 a.m. He later posted bond and was set free after about an hour.
Charges against Etienne included DUI of alcohol, reckless driving, failing to remain within a lane, and attaching materials that obstruct the visibility of windows/windshields; all these charges are classified as misdemeanors. His DUI was categorised as “less safe”, a classification in Georgia that can result in a conviction for drivers whose blood alcohol level is below .08 grams.
This incident follows a recent pattern of incidents involving allegations of drinking and driving associated with the Bulldogs team over the recent years.
Prior to his move to Georgia, Etienne had played for two seasons with the Florida Gators. His elder brother, Travis Etienne, Jr., is currently a running back for the Jacksonville Jaguars.
