A man from Somerville, Massachusetts was apprehended by Hollis Police Department on charges of aggravated drunk driving. The man almost had an accident with a law enforcement car early this morning, according to the police department’s records.
The man, Scott McDonnell, 57, was noticed by a Hollis policeman around 12:10 am as he swerved perilously across Broad Street, which resulted in his vehicle being pulled over. On getting to the vehicle, the officer detected a powerful scent of alcohol.
McDonnell attempted to perform a series of standard field sobriety tests but failed due to his high impairment. He was consequently escorted to Hollis Police Department for further administrative processes and later set free on a personal recognizance bond.
McDonnell’s court hearing is anticipated to take place at the 9th Circuit Court, Nashua District. He is facing an aggravated DUI charge for registering a blood alcohol concentration (BrAC) of .21, more than twice the acceptable limit of .08. McDonnell is also facing two extra DUI allegations.
