Murder Charges in Fresno County after Fatal DUI Crash

The Fresno County District Attorney’s Office in California has laid charges against a man identified as Ryan Trevino for his alleged role in a fatal DUI incident in the county over the weekend. Trevino, who has earlier been convicted of DUI in 2007 and 2019, and is awaiting charges for a DUI arrest in October last year, reportedly faces three charges. These include murder and causing substantial injury to a person aged over 70, while under the combined effect of alcohol and a drug.

The California Highway Patrol stated that Trevino, 35, was again purportedly under the influence on Saturday when his truck deviated into the path of oncoming vehicles on Millerton Road near Marina Drive. His truck subsequently collided with another pickup, resulting in the death of the 78-year-old driver, John Tarter.

Both the passenger in Tarter’s vehicle and Trevino sustained severe injuries from the incident, leading to their hospitalization. It seems that due to Trevino’s physical condition, he is yet to be incarcerated. His arraignment is slated for Wednesday.
