An early morning call about a single-vehicle accident on Sunday, January 7th led to the arrest of the driver.
Marshall County Central Dispatch Center received a distress call around 2:40 a.m. concerning a solo vehicle accident that occurred on the 10,000 block of King Road. The investigation into the incident, led by Deputy Evan Ash, found that 30-year-old Brady Koz of Argos was driving a 2002 Chevrolet Silverado southbound on King Road. The car swerved off the road and collided with a large stump, mailboxes, and an REMC utility pole.
Following the investigation, it was concluded that Koz had been drinking under the influence of alcohol. The results from a field sobriety test followed by a certified chemical test showed Koz’s alcohol levels to be over twice the legal limit.
As a result, Koz was arrested and held in the Marshall County Jail for operating a vehicle under the influence with .15 or greater. He is being held on a $1,500 cash bond.
However, readers are advised to remember that all charges are simply accusations supported by an affidavit of probable cause, indicating that the crime might have been committed. Until the legal profession has been concluded, the accused is considered innocent and is allowed legal representation.
