Bridgewater Driver Charged with DWI after New Year’s Crash

A motorist was detained for impaired driving following a vehicular mishap on New Year’s Day in Bridgewater, New Jersey. Around 3:48 a.m. on January 1, Bridgewater Township Police Officers were called to the scene at the intersection of Finderne Avenue and 2nd Street due to an reported vehicle flip. The driver, Maria R. Marinhull, 29, of Bound Brook, had been driving a 2002 Nissan Sentra south on Finderne Avenue when the car made its way over the center double yellow lines, flipped several times, and eventually halted on the intersection’s southeast corner, stated Bridgewater Police. No injuries were reported in the crash. Marinhull was arrested at the scene for driving while under the influence and was later slapped with summons for reckless driving, careless driving, and driving while intoxicated. The Finderne Fire Department helped at the scene and continues to seek volunteers. They provide full protective gear, free training, service award programs, a per-call incentive, a life insurance/disability plan, and access to an in-house gym.
